Hatha Yoga

'Ha' is Sanskrit for sun and 'tha' is moon. Hatha is the bringing together of all existence into a wholeness and unity, Hatha Yoga means "union with God. Hatha yoga starts with physical postures designed to strengthen the physical body and nervous system.

Vinyasa Yoga

Commonly referred to as “flow yoga”. A contemporary style of yoga characterised by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, energetically and seamlessly using the breath. Vinyasa classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are never alike.

Ashtanga Yoga

This style of yoga involves synchronising breathing with a continuous series of postures, purifying the muscles and organs and detoxifying the body. The result is improved circulation, flexibility/ suppleness, stamina, strong body and calm mind.

Yin yoga

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. It involves a gentle traction and stress of the tissues whilst finding stillness in the mind, the body and the breath.

Acu- yoga

Acu-Yoga is a therapeutic mixture of acupressure and yoga, which helps to relax muscle tension, vital energy of the body using various postures, pressure points, effective in relieving stress and finding energy leading to vibrant health, benefits in physical healing it also helps with emotional and spiritual transformation.

Relatively new type of the sport that uses a hammock , yoga swing allows students to perform postures , My aerial yoga will help you to decompress the spine, increases core strength and balance and provide the action of pulling, a movement that is lacking in the traditional yoga practice.

Pregnancy yoga

A way to maintain a healthy mind and body is prenatal yoga because it focuses on poses for pregnant women, in order to increase strength and flexibility. It also helps pregnant Women to develop proper breathing and relaxation techniques for easier and more comfortable labour.

Yoga

Post natal yoga

Postnatal yoga helps you to recover from pregnancy and birth. It heals the body and mind, repairing all the tissues back to their former glory. It is specially designed for mothers with their babies so that little one can also incorporate into the practice.

Post-natal yoga helps  stiffness in the shoulders, neck and upper back, it helps  strengthen pelvic floor muscles, abdominal and back muscles for core strength, it  helps to expand your breathing and calms the mind.

My class focuses on aligning the pelvis, strengthening core and abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. Restore rest and relaxation with the breath while bonding with your baby, and having fun along the way. You will find  inner and outer calm and strength.

Yoga nidra

Yoga nidra or yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage, typically induced by a guided meditation.

Lying in shavasana (relaxation pose), we begin with a body scan and breath awareness followed by a deep relaxation. You will embark on a visualisation journey, tapping into difference states of your consciousness. 1 hour yoga nidra is the equivalent to 4 hours sleep.

Cupping therapy and massage:

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin with the application of heated cups/ non heated cups. The benefits of cupping include local pain relief and muscle relaxation. Cupping improves overall health by removing the energy blockages that Identify as barriers to the flow of healthy energy or chi. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue. For athletes, cupping may help increase blood flow to a particular muscle region or help reduce pain.

I use a combination of cupping cups and aromatherapy massage to treat achy, sore and tense muscles. The cups will help to release toxins and negative energy accumulated both internally and externally in the body.

“I have had a lot of group and 1-1 Pilates and Yoga sessions with Helen. She always knows just how to pitch her sessions and has the right mix of supportive and challenging. I never thought I’d enjoy yoga but I always come away feeling stronger and relaxed - a good combination!” “I really enjoyed attending Helen’s hip opener workshop. It was a great group of people and repeating the exercises she taught us has made a huge difference to my comfort and flexibility”
Bonnie Brimstone
I started at my yoga journey with Helen when I was around 20 weeks pregnant and I am still doing classes with her over 9 months postnatal. Helen is a wonderful teacher who really adapts the class to everybody’s abilities. She is so knowledgeable in the art of yoga and has helped me regain so much strength. The breathing techniques she taught me in pregnancy yoga were invaluable during labour along with the pelvic floor work. I would highly recommend Helen if you are looking for a yoga teacher
